Dementia and drug use cause paranoia. That is very common. Some of other things that can include delusions and/or hallucination can be:
Narcolepsy
Has a psychic ever made a crazy prediction that turned out to be true?
Withdrawal from benzodiazepines
PTSD
Brain Tumors
Migraines
Dementia with Lewy bodies
Fever
Grief (yes, sadly)
Charles Bonnet syndrome
Delirium tremens
